It is time to start the tradition in my family. My only other wish is that one day my girls will do the same when they have kids.

Just reading the experiences of other past campers put me in tears, and brought back some wonderful memories. I thought I had forgotten some of the songs we use to sing, but they came spilling back to me after reading the other stories. And who could forget "Toodie," "Taps," the "Announcements," the Polar Bear Club -- and of course my Wallace cabin.

I remember going to Camp Tannadoonah during my "tween" years—and I absolutely loved it! I grew up near the State Line, so going to Camp Tannadoonah was not a very far ride for our family. However, it was just far enough to make me feel like I was hundred of miles away from home. For the past 10 years, we've been living in South Carolina, and I love it down here. However, I often tell my girls, ages 10 and 11, just how much I loved Camp Tannadoonah. I want them to share the same memories I had there. Of course, there are other summer camps down here, which are much closer. But after I showed them the website and explained all the cool stuff you can do at Camp Tannadoonah, they don't want to go anywhere else! It is a good thing that my parents and siblings still live in Indiana. When we make the road trip to camp this year, I will have somewhere to visit, while my girls are at camp. I am so excited for them to be able experience what I felt was the best summer of camp in all my childhood at Camp Tannadoonah. It is time to start the tradition in my family. My only other wish is that one day my girls will do the same when they have kids. I hope they get the same wonderful memories and experiences that I had when I went to awesome "Camp Tannadonah!"
